Senior associate lawyer – Real Estate, Construction & Urban Planning (Luxembourg)

Your mission

We are recruiting a Senior Associate Lawyer to join our growing Real Estate, Construction & Urban Planning practice and play an active role in its development.

Your mission and responsibilities:

You will join a dynamic and multidisciplinary team advising domestic and international clients — including real estate investors, asset and property managers, developers, construction companies, operators of commercial property businesses, owners of land and properties, investment funds and public authorities — across the full spectrum of Real Estate, Construction & Urban Planning matters.

Your responsibilities as a Senior Associate lawyer in Real Estate, will span the following key areas:

Acquisition & Sale of Land and Real Estate Properties: Advising buyers and sellers at every stage of the acquisition or sale process; performing due diligence and drafting buyer and seller red flag reports; drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts for the sale and purchase of existing and off-plan properties; assisting our Corporate & M&A team with the real estate aspects of share and asset deals;

Property Management & Leasing: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating lease agreements (commercial, office and residential, including co-living) and long-term leases (emphytéose); drafting and negotiating property management contracts; advising clients on joint ownership and shared property matters;

Construction: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction service agreements, architect contracts and related documentation; advising developers, builders, operators, contractors, lenders and property owners on all construction-related matters, including co-living projects; assisting clients with mandatory building permits and licences;

Urban Planning & Environment: Advising clients on applicable urban planning rules, including layout plans (PAG, PAP); drafting and negotiating agreements with municipalities; liaising with local administrative authorities; advising on environmental matters such as pollution and waste management;

Dispute Resolution: From time to time, you may be called upon to contribute your real estate expertise in the context of contentious matters handled by our dedicated Litigation & Dispute Resolution department, particularly in construction, lease or environmental disputes.

You will also regularly collaborate with other departments of the firm, in particular our Corporate & M&A team, providing your real estate expertise on the legal aspects of acquisitions and due diligence exercises.

As a senior lawyer, you will supervise and mentor more junior team members.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the firm’s visibility by authoring articles in legal publications and by preparing and co-presenting at seminars and conferences.

You will work on cross-border real estate matters alongside leading local or international law firms and will be given a high level of autonomy while benefiting from close partner involvement and support.

Your profile

  • Member of the Luxembourg Bar or another European Bar;
  • At least 7 years of solid experience in Real Estate & Construction within a reputable law firm, with proven exposure to complex transactions and clientfacing work and a solid background in Luxembourg commercial/real estate/construction law;
  • Outstanding legal and analytical skills;
  • An excellent command (written and spoken) of French and English; a working knowledge of German is an asset;
  • Ability to work in teams as well as autonomously and to supervise, guide and develop junior team members;
  • and Team player and client oriented.
